SYC cadets are invited to join the new OnBoard Club at Filey.
The Club aims to help young people aged 11-25 years old get out sailing more often and meets mainly on a Monday evening and on some Saturdays.

The sailing committee has suggested having a series of dinghy sailing evenings at Wykham lakes.
This would be to encourage cadets onto the water on dinghies and also possibly be for racing by anyone interested. The evenings would be run on weeks with no midweek SYC race.
In order to run these evenings we would need to book the dinghies and safety boat. We need to have an idea of the amount of interest and the type of evening/evenings you would like to have. Popular in the past has been a one off evening for cadets with BBQ but a more regular program of sailing, possibly multiple races in an evening or team racing or match racing.

Cadet evenings will start again on Monday 12 September - meet at 7pm to 8.30pm at the Yacht Club.
The evenings aim to be informal and fun - open to Cadet Members and Cadet Family Members aged 8 - 26 years.

After the success of the first event at Wykeham Lakes, SYC are looking at holding further events.
These will be aimed at all cadet members aged 8 to 18 years old where, if you've never sailed before or haven't sailed for a while, Sam Usher and his team at Wykeham Lakes will introduce you to sailing and for those who have a bit more experience, introduce you to new boats/techniques.
There'll be lots of fun and games on the water - wetsuits and buoyancy aids are provided and Wykeham Lakes is a recognised RYA centre so everything's done in a safe environment. No matter what level of sailing you're at then please come along and bring a friend too.
